Marc Marquez wins new FIM award
Marc Marquez has added a new award to his illustrious silverware cabinet, after stealing the show at the FIM awards ceremony.

Seven-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez was the star of the show at the FIM awards ceremony in Lausanne, Switzerland, something we’ve said many times about the Ducati rider in 2025.
Marquez was by far the best rider on track throughout the 2026 MotoGP season, as he ultimately sealed his ninth world title with five rounds to go.
Thanks to his success during the 2025 season, Marquez celebrated his victory at the awards by receiving his winners’ gold medal.
He also saw his name engraved onto the world champion’s trophy once again, but for the first time as a Ducati rider after winning his previous six MotoGP titles with Repsol Honda.

However, there was a new award that Marquez also took home, which was slightly surprising. Marquez was awarded the new ‘FIM Sporting Trophy’ by FIM president Jorge Vargas.
The trophy is awarded to the rider that shows the most 'excellence through resilience, courage and tenacity'. Marquez has fought against career-threatening shoulder and eye injuries over the last five years, and his comeback is one of the best, not just in motorcycle racing, but in professional sport.
Interviewed by former World Superbike champion James Toseland on the red carpet at the FIM awards, Marquez admitted he was happy to be back at the ceremony following his grueling injury setbacks over the last few seasons. The 32-year-old said:
“It has been a long time, five years, but I am super happy to be back at the FIM Awards. It means the season has been super good, and it is also very nice to meet mates from other disciplines.”
