LiveWire Confirms S2 Electric Models for Police in the US
LiveWire is combining its performance from the S2 Alpinista and Del Mar models to provide police and security officers with a dedicated Patrol motorcycle
LiveWire has confirmed a new S2 model for law enforcement and security officers in the United States, as its S2 Patrol bike takes after both the Alpinista and Del Mar electric motorcycle.
Incorporating performance and safety features from both bikes, the new S2 Patrol bike S2 is set to “offer a multitude of benefits for patrol officers, security forces, and motorcade duty”, according to the company.
The bike will feature a twist-and-go operation meaning no clutch or shifting is required, while also benefiting from low heat signature, minimal vibration, and easy low speed manoeuvrability. Additionally, the quiet operation and zero emissions offer benefits not only on the street but in indoor environments where the S2 Patrol models have been identified as ideal for conventions, summits, and stadium use.
LiveWire has also secured its first fleet deal for these dedicated models, providing the police department in the city of St. Cloud, Florida with S2 Patrol Del Mar models.
Police departments and private security companies will have a large range of accessories to choose from. The accessories include standard tip-over protection, both top case and side cases, a 120dB siren, 12 SpeedTech LED lights, AUX power supply and hand guards.
As for price, LiveWire says its new S2 Patrols will start between $15,999 (£11,940) and $16,249 (£12,120), depending on whether you opt for the Alpinista or Del Mar model.
Included on both models are safety features such as cornering enhanced ABS (C-ABS), drag-torque slip control, and cornering enhanced traction control. These models are also covered under the company’s standard five-year unlimited mileage warranty on the high-voltage battery and two-year unlimited mileage warranty on the motorcycle, which can be extended to five years as well.
