Harley-Davidson has pulled the covers off a new X440T

Built by Hero and badged as a Harley-Davidson, the X440T takes the brand’s entry point and gives it a muscular makeover.

Indian riders will have a new Bar and Shield bike to choose from in 2026, as the Harley-Davidson X440T arrives in the market.

For those unaware of the Asian-market only ‘X’ model Harleys, they are, in fact, built by the Indian giant Hero. Beneath the skin of the bikes, you will find a bike that is almost identical to the Hero Hunk 440. The engine, chassis, and performance of the two models are basically the same, although the bikes that leave the factory branded as H-Ds feature a slightly more premium spec level.

The main difference between the existing X440 and the new X440T is centred around the styling of the bike. The new model features a revised tail and seat unit, which is more muscular than before and leaves less room between the rear wheel and the subframe. It’s reminiscent of the seat unit that was found on the Street Rod, which was discontinued a few years ago.

Other styling tweaks include bar-end-mounted mirrors and a small heat shield positioned on the exhaust. The rest of the bike is, as far as we can gather, exactly the same as the standard X440, meaning 26bhp from the single-cylinder engine and a Bluetooth-enabled TFT both feature.

The new bike will be landing in four new colours: red, black, white, and dark blue. Its official pricing in the Indian market hasn’t been communicated as yet, and there is still no word on whether or not the X440 in either trim level will make it to the UK or Europe.
