Elvis’ Harley-Davidson set to become most valuable bike in the world

Elvis Presley put just 126 miles on the clock of this stunning 1976 Harley-Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide valued at a cool $2,000,000

1976 Harley-Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide Elvis Presley

The last motorcycle owned by the late great Elvis Presley – a 1976 Harley-Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide – is being lined up to go under the hammer at auction, with estimates tipping it to obliterate the purchase record for a motorcycle.

Presley – still widely referred to as ‘the King’ more than four decades after his death - purchased the baby blue Harley-Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide a year before he passed away in 1977 and barely used it, notching up just 126 miles on the clock in that time.

Since then the bike has been on display at the Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo, South Dakota, but is now being put up for auction to raise money… and it’x tipped to raise a lot with GWS Auctions is estimating it will sell for between $1,750,000 and $2,000,000.

The most valuable motorbike in the world

Even at the lower side of this value this 1976 Harley-Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide will smash the previous record for a motorcycle sale, currently held by a Vincent Black Lightning, which sold for $929,000.

“Elvis Presley's 1976 Harley Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide - This was Elvis Presley's last motorcycle he ever purchased, which was purchased on August 11, 1976,” reads the detailed description attached to the sale.

“After purchasing a Harley Davidson Sportster 1000 as a gift, Elvis purchased this customized full dress Harley for himself. The motorcycle shows very low, original miles and has retained all of its originality as when it was purchased by Elvis.

“Elvis eventually had the motorcycle delivered to Graceland and it was later sold to a local Harley Davidson dealership. Elvis often gave away his favorite "toys" after a short time of enjoyment, substantiating his lifelong charitable nature

GWS Auctions specialise in the selling of Hollywood and Music Artefacts with other lots on its website, not least motorbikes and Elvis Presley merchandise.

Want a motorbike once ridden by Nicolas Cage? Of course you do...

These include a 1981 Kawasaki Z-1 as used in The Road Warrior going for a minimum bid $20,000, Lee Marvin’s personal Honda CT90 Trail and a customised 1982 Yamaha XV920 as used in The Walking Dead series (zombie blood polished off…).

Personally, we’re rather taken by the prospect of owning the lime green Yamaha DT250 simply because it was ridden by Nicolas Cage’s character in The Rock. For $7,500 you could literally have the funniest, best or worst pub brag in your possession…
