CCTV shows car pull out on motorcyclist then leave crash scene

Rider, 18, hopes someone will recognise car occupants and contact police

CCTV FOOTAGE shows a car driver pull out into the path of a motorcycle, collide with it, then leave the crash scene before police arrive.

Motorcyclist Daniel Wright, 18, hopes someone will recognise the car and its two male occupants and give them up to police.

The computer engineer was lucky to escape with minor injuries from the crash, in west London on November 19.

The footage shows the dark blue Ford Mondeo turning right out of a garden centre. Halfway across the road the car suddenly brakes. Wright, coming from the right, clips the car and crashes, sliding about 30 metres before coming to a halt on the opposite side of the road

Wright stands up and two men get out of the car and exchange words with him as a passer-by helps by picking up the bike.

The two men then return to the car, get in and drive off.

Wright, of Stanwell, was on his way back from work when the accident happened, on Holloway Lane, Sipson.

He said: "The first thing he said to me was that I had damaged his car. I told him that the police could decide what happened. He said he was going to grab a pen and paper, but then he just drove off. I really didn't expect that."

Wright’s uncle, Lee Batley, said: "The video sends shivers down my spine every time I watch it. Daniel could have been killed. He was in shock and in pain, and the man came over and started having a go at him. We will exhaust every avenue to find this person. You can't see the car registration, but the video is still quite clear and hopefully someone will recognise it."

The driver of the Mondeo headed towards Hayes.
