Boorman ‘really looking forward to’ Long Way Up

If this isn't proof the trip is happening then I don't know what is!

CHARLEY BOORMAN has been teasing us with hints of a Long Way Up ride for a few weeks now.

And it appears that a plan is most definitely in action after the 51-year-old shared a photo of himself and Ewan McGregor from one of the intrepid duo’s previous adventures.

This morning’s post, which is now the pinned tweet in his profile, says simply “Really looking forward to our next adventure. #longwayup”. He’s tagged directors/producers Russ Malkin and David Alexanian (although we think he may have got the wrong Alexanian…).

However, despite McGregor’s presence in this latest photo, the actor is yet to comment on the trip and notably Boorman hasn’t tagged him on either Instagram or Twitter (although he doesn’t appear to have used the latter since last October). But, it wouldn’t be a ‘Long Way’ trip without him, so we seriously hope he’s involved.

Again, the question of bikes has arisen among fans. In Long Way Round McGregor and Boorman rode R1150GS models, and they used its successor - the R1200GS - for the Long Way Down. But now Boorman is an ambassador for Triumph, we’re wondering whether it may be a pair of Tigers that take on the televised trip?

And as for the route? That’s still under wraps, but a fan favourite is from the bottom of South America to Alaska. And Boorman did tweet last week that he “hopes to be Stateside in November”… Or are we reading too much into that?

Great work. Hope to be stateside in November. Cheers from old Blighty https://t.co/JwDGA8GSYw

Whatever the route, here at Visordown we’re buzzing for #LongWayUp!
