BMF Tailend Show cancelled

Firm behind BMF's three annual shows enters liquidation

THE British Motorcyclists Federation’s Tailend Show has been cancelled after the firm that runs it went into liquidation.

The annual end-of-season party was due to take place on September 13-14 in Peterborough until Mulberry Events Ltd’s announcement yesterday afternoon that it was entering voluntary liquidation.

Mulberry Events also organises the BMF Show in Peterborough each May or June, billed as Europe’s largest outdoor bike show, as well as the mid-season Kelso Bikefest in Scotland.

The BMF Shows' website is currently down, with a note saying: ‘Site currently under maintenance, please return soon.’

A statement from the rider group says: 'The BMF is sorry to learn that its contractor used for organising the three BMF Shows, Mulberry Events Limited, has announced that it is now entering into voluntary liquidation…

'As a result it will not be able to run the BMF Tailend Show this year and will not be able to carry out any further business for the BMF.

'The Directors of Mulberry Events Limited have issued a statement thanking the BMF, Exhibitors, Clubs and other support services for their help, support and contributions over the past five years of working with the BMF.

'The BMF will work with the Liquidators of Mulberry Events Limited in an effort to recover from them monies paid by members and exhibitors in relation to the now cancelled Tailend Show 2014. A further press release on this will be issued in due course.

There will be a lot of hard work and planning from this point so the BMF can reorganise arrangements to carry on with its events, in whatever form, for 2015 and onwards.

'Despite the news of the Liquidation of Mulberry, the BMF is keen to state that it is in good financial health and will continue to represent the interests of motorcyclists throughout the UK.'
