Gwent Police arrest nine in intelligence-led operation

A BIKER GANG meeting was broken up by armed police in the Forest of Dean on Saturday, following intelligence reports compiled by Gwent Police.

The operation, which saw armed officers joined by riot police, culminated in the arrest of nine people for a range of offences, including possession of offensive weapons, theft and being in possession of illegal drugs.

Eight men and one woman - all from Gloucester, the Forest of Dean and Stroud - were arrested during the operation.

One man was cautioned, two men were released on bail and the remaining six people were kept in custody.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "This is an intelligence-led operation relating to specific individuals who may be intending to commit serious acts of disorder outside the force area."
