The UK last staged the FIM 6Days Enduro of Nations race (formerly known as the International Six Days Enduro) in 1983. However, that changes in 2027.

Just like in 1983, Wales will again be the host nation, after the ACU (Auto-Cycle Union) had its proposal to bring the famous race back to the UK accepted.

The ACU submitted its bid back in April, which was supported by the Welsh Government’s event support body. And by having it accepted, an economic boost of £3 million for the sport and the local area is expected.

The ACU says it will continue to work with regional enduro clubs in preparation for the 2027 race, while confirming “further details on the event will be shared in due course by the FIM and ACU as preparations progress toward 2027”.

Keeping with tradition, an official international launch will be held for the 2027 race at the preceding event in Portugal, which is the host nation for the landmark 100th edition in 2026.

Said international launch will then be followed by continued updates across the event's “forthcoming website and social media channels”, according to the ACU.

The 6Days Enduro race is made up of a series of point scoring stages, many of which feature time checks throughout, and multiple special tests each day.

The series has a rich history of racing in the UK, but particularly in Wales, with Llandrindod Wells proving to be a popular venue during the 1930s, 40s, 50s and 60s. The 2027 event is expected to be held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells, which is located in Mid Wales.
