Ex-Guy Martin Isle of Man TT Honda Superstock set for auction at the NEC

A Honda CBR1000RR8, raced by none other than Guy Martin at the Isle of Man TT, is set to go under the hammer in November as part of Iconic Auctioneers’ motorcycle sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show. 

The race-spec superstock machine was raced by Martin throughout the 2008 and 2009 seasons for Shaun Muir Racing. Although the TV star was never victorious at the TT, he did achieve 17 podium finishes at the iconic road race, some of which were achieved aboard this particular bike.

Martin’s best result with the bike came in 2009, claiming a second-place finish in the Superstock race behind Ian Hutchinson. Martin also finished fourth in the Ulster Grand Prix that same season. 

Martin’s first TT podium with the bike came in 2008, when he rode to third place behind Cameron Donald and 23-time TT winner John McGuinness.

The sale of this bike in November will mark the second time that Iconic Auctioneers has put the motorcycle up for auction. It was previously sold by the auction house seven years ago, and it has remained with the same owner ever since.

According to the listing, the bike is being sold due to the vendor wanting to reduce his current collection of bikes. The Fireblade is said to have been well maintained and comes complete with its original Hydrex, Red Torpedo, SMR livery. 

It will also be supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by SMR Hydrex Honda Chief Engineer, Mick Shanley. Since being sold seven years ago, the motorcycle has largely been on display, although it was in running condition a few years ago. It’s advised that the bike’s future owner carries out basic checks of the bike prior to use, while light recommissioning is also advised. 

The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2026 will take place on November 15.
