Quick reactions save motorcyclist from lunging snake

Not so much smidsy, more slidsy

IT'S safe to say lunging snakes are not the reason a swerve exercise was added to the bike test but the manoeuvre saved this motorcyclist when he encountered that very hazard in Lampang, Thailand.

Dash cam footage from the car behind shows the rider cruising along before suddenly slowing and swerving left.

A sizeable snake slithering across the road then launches itself at the motorcyclist, who reacts by quickly lifting his legs out of its reach.

The rider then continues as the car behind appears to run over the reptile.

Both sides of the road are bordered by jungle but oddly the creature appears to have come from a junction on the right.

Perhaps it just wanted to tell the rider "Sorry mate, I didn't see you."
