GREAT WEATHER on the first Sunday in September helped fill the Ace Cafe car/bike park with a great selection of Classic Jap machinery. The quality of some restorations must have damaged quite a few bank balances and the sales of chrome polish must have peaked in the days preceding the event.

The usual haul of Z1s and CB 750s were joined by an RE5, Suzuki's failed  and rather expensive (for them) attempt to make a viable rotary-engined road bike. Having ridden one back in the day, it did nothing better than its piston engined contempories but drank petrol and two stroke oil at a rate which Kawasaki H2 owners could relate to.

A humble Honda CB200 (not shown above!) stood out amongst the exotica to remind us that even boring old commuter bikes are worth saving to some enthusiasts. Here's a selection of pics from the day, if you need to know what the bikes are, ask an old bloke!
