Karel Abraham is now a lawyer

Abraham may be MotoGP's most educated racer

Two days after the MotoGP race at Brno Karel Abraham received a bachelor's degree in law.

When most riders were fully focussed on the race at Brno, Abraham was also studying for his law exams at his home race. The Ducati rider has had a fragmented season in 2012, missing races through injury, but he was able to get a top 10 finish with ninth in the Czech GP.

Abraham, who is now aiming for his Master's, said: “I studied every day, even during the Grand Prix weekend. I think it helped me get rid of some of the stress associated with the race, because I had something completely different to worry about. Now I’m glad to have them both behind me, and that they both worked out okay."

As motorcycle racers dedicate their lives to the sport from a very early age, there are only a small few who are educated. Roberto Rolfo is another, the Italian has studied literature at the University of Turin.
