Alvaro Bautista has sent out a warning ahead of qualifying by producing the fastest lap of the weekend with a 1m 29.785s to pull out almost half a second on the chasing factory Kawasaki duo Leon Haslam and Jonathan Rea.

Having topped FP2, the Aruba.it Racing Ducati rider has maintained his momentum in the final practice session ahead of his World Superbike debut by setting a new fastest lap and the only rider to duck into the 1m 29s bracket in the 20-minute FP3 session.

Haslam edged ahead of team-mate Rea by 0.040s to take second place with Pata Yamaha’s Alex Lowes in fourth place just 0.026s off Rea.

Eugene Laverty produced impressive overnight gains to surge to fifth place on the Go Eleven Ducati and ahead of Tom Sykes on the BMW and Marco Melandri, double winner at Phillip Island 12 months ago, on the GRT Yamaha.

Markus Reiterberger (BMW), Toprak Razgatlioglu (Turkish Puccetti Kawasaki) and Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing Ducati) rounded out the top 10.
