Peter Hickman and FHO Racing have revealed an eye-catching new look for its upcoming 2022 Isle of Man TT bid after striking a deal with world-renowned customising house Gas Monkey to title sponsor his blue riband Superbike efforts.

Though he hasn’t turned a wheel on the roads since 2019 after most events were put on hiatus in response to COVID-19, the Isle of Man TT returns this year with Hickman hot favourite to pick up where he left off three years ago.

Already the lap record holder with a speed of 135.452mph - set in 2018 on a BMW S 1000 RR - Hickman will this year tackle the Mountain aboard a BMW M 1000 RR prepared by FHO Racing, which was borne out of the remnants of the Smiths Racing team he raced the TT with in 2019.

With five TT wins under his belt, Hickman heads into the 2022 event looking to multiply that with entries into six races (2x Superbike on a BMW, 2x Supersport on a Triumph, 1x Superstock on a BMW, 1x Supertwins on a Norton).

Now FHO Racing have confirmed a new sponsor in Gas Monkey, known for customising cars on the Discovery channel’s Fast N’ Loud show.

As part of the deal, Hickman's normally grey and blue BMW M 1000 RR will be transformed with a green, white and black livery for the TT.

“I’m really happy to announce this new partnership with Gas Monkey Garage ahead of this year’s Isle of Man TT Races,” said team manager Faye Ho. “We worked extremely hard as a team in our first year to show our potential and both Peter and the team are excited about taking that to the TT, even more so with the partnership with Richard and the Gas Monkey family.

“It’s always important to attract new sponsors to the sport and we’re grateful to the support and commitment they’ve shown and we aim to repay that faith by delivering a strong set of results at this year’s TT.”
