Crash.net is at Losail in Qatar for this weekend's second and final official MotoGP pre-season test.
Jorge Lorenzo, who missed Sepang due to a fractured left scaphoid bone in a January training accident, will make his return to action under the floodlights - and ride in Repsol Honda livery for the very first time.
Team-mate and reigning five-time champion Marc Marquez underwent a shoulder operation in December, but was still quickest on day one in Sepang and will expect to be in stronger shape this weekend.
Likewise, LCR's Cal Crutchlow made his return from ankle injuries at the Malaysian test, where he was the quickest Honda in sixth place.
Top of the timesheets with an unofficial lap record was new factory Ducati signing Danilo Petrucci, who led an all-Desmosedici top four, with rookie Francesco Bagnaia causing a stir in second place.
However, the likes of Maverick Vinales (Yamaha), Alex Rins (Suzuki) and even Marquez looked stronger than the Ducatis on race pace.
Testing in Qatar will take place from 4pm to 10pm, but the serious action is expected after dusk, with the season-opening night race starting at 7pm on March 10…
