MotoGP test dates announced, Finland possible
MotoGP confirms a Misano test in August, Jerez test in November - plus possible MotoGP test team outing in Finland.
Further dates and venues for MotoGP tests during the remainder of 2019 and start of 2020 have been announced.
An official test on August 29 and 30 has been confirmed at Misano, while there is also 'a possibility for a test to take place at the Kymiring in Finland for MotoGP class manufacturers’ test teams, with dates to be confirmed.'
The proposed Kymiring circuit was initially scheduled for a 2018 MotoGP race debut, but that was pushed back to 2019 and now 2020...
In addition to the Misano and perhaps Kymiring tests, the 2019 MotoGP rules state that there will be three official tests on the Monday after a grand prix (Jerez, Catalunya and Brno).
The rules also name a two-day official post-race test 'at the same circuit as the season finale' (meaning the Valencia test) and it has now been confirmed that Jerez will again host the final test of the year, on November 25-26.
Although this was an official test in 2018, the rules describe the 2019 outing as a 'One 2-Day joint private test at one circuit in Europe during November'.
Following the winter test ban, Sepang in Malaysia will once again open the new year with a shakedown test (February 2-4) followed by an official test (Feb 7-9).
No dates have been given for the 2020 Qatar test, since that will depend on the racing calendar.
However, the rules confirm there will be 'One 3-Day official test at the circuit of the first event of the season, approximately 2 weeks before the event at that circuit'.
