MotoGP 2012: Sachsenring race results
Does fortune favour Lorenzo after Assen?
DANI Pedrosa notched up his first win at Sachsenring, in a hard-fought battle with his team mate Casey Stoner.
Stoner put it all on the line in the second to last corner and lost the front, gifting Jorge Lorenzo second place, a vital 20-points and a step-up to the top of the championship.
Lorenzo rode a lonely race with a 5-second gap infront and behind him. In the following pack, Dovizioso, Crutchlow and Spies scrapped it out, but Crutchlow ran too hot into the first corner, ending up in the gravel, rejoining in 11th.
The pack he joined consisted of Bradl, Rossi, Bautista, Barbera and Hayden, all looking like they were contenders for fifth place, but it was Bradl who took it by just two-tenths from Rossi, who was followed over the line by Bautista, Crutchlow, Barbera and Hayden, all six within 2-seconds of each other.
Edwards has proved he's back to full strength with a 12th place finish, the second CRT behind Randy de Puniet. Britain's James Ellison took the last points-scoring finish in 15th.
