Moto2: Pasini to replace Dixon at Jerez
Mattia Pasini to make his second Moto2 appearance of the season, this time as a replacement for the injured Jake Dixon.
Mattia Pasini has been called up to ride in place of the injured Jake Dixon by the Angel Nieto Team, for this weekend's Spanish Moto2 Grand Prix.
The Englishman is still recovering from a practice concussion at Austin, where Pasini - a twelve-time grand prix winner - finished an impressive fourth as a replacement for the injured Augusto Fernandez at the Pons (Kalex) team.
The Italian will now try to perform a similar feat with Aspar's KTM chassis.
"I am very happy to be riding at Jerez," Pasini said. "It will be a different race to Austin because I am changing bikes and I have never ridden a KTM before.
"Hopefully I can find a good feeling quickly and I will work hand in hand with the team from the first moment to see what result we can aim for. I think we can do well but we will see how it goes over the weekend.
"I want to say thanks to Jorge Martínez 'Aspar' and KTM for this opportunity and I will give my all during the weekend to see what we can achieve together."
Pasini will ride alongside Angel Nieto regular Xavi Cardelus.
