Moto2: Bendsneyder unfit for Tech3 finale
Héctor Garzo steps in for injured Bo Bendsneyder at Valencia.
Bo Bendsneyder will not be fit to return for what would have been his final Tech3 Moto2 appearance - and last outing for the Mistral 610 chassis - at Valencia this weekend.
The Dutchman is still recovering from a broken tibia sustained when his alternator exploded during the Japanese Grand Prix.
Bendsneyder's place alongside Remy Gardner will be taken by Héctor Garzo, who has previously stepped in as an injury replacement for Gardner and will be one of Tech3's MotoE riders for 2019.
“I’m very happy to be back in the Tech3 team, and also thankful for the opportunity," Garzo said. "I’ll try my best during the last race weekend of the World Championship and also enjoy it, plus learn as much as I can.
"It’s also a great chance for me to prepare the last European Championship race in Cheste just one week later. I want to thank Tech3 Racing team for this opportunity and also send some wishes for a fast recovery to my mate Bo! I will give my best.”
Tech3 is switching to the KTM chassis in 2019, when it will run an all-rookie line-up of Marco Bezzecchi and Philipp Oettl.
Bendsneyder will join RW Racing (NTS) and Gardner SAG (Kalex).
