Following Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix, the first official in-season test of the season was held back at the Jerez circuit on Monday, from 10am to 6pm.
Rookie pole qualifier Quartararo topped the timesheets for most of the day, fending off a late attack from Crutchlow to return to the top with a lap half-a-second quicker than his own circuit record.
All race riders were back on track - although Aprilia's Iannone made only a brief appearance, without setting a lap time, before the pain from his injured foot proved too much - plus test riders Smith and Guintoli.
Race winner Marquez tried HRC test and wild-card rider Stefan Bradl's bike featuring a carbon-fibre reinforced chassis, using it to set his best time before packing up one hour early, while Suzuki debuted its swingarm device.
Lorenzo suffered a fallat 4pm, then another at the end of the day.
The French Grand Prix at Le Mans takes place on May 17-19.
