IT'S THE second year of the Super Duke Battle, and a grid full of riders will again be descending on the BSB paddock this year, in a repeat of the very successful KTM Super Duke Battle, sponsored in 2008 by Focused Events.
The inaugural series hosted in 2007 saw some excellent bar-to-bar racing and very impressive lap times, all of which entertained the BSB crowds at some of the UK’s premier racing circuits.
2008 is shaping up to be bigger and better already. The 999cc V-Twins will be rumbling once the lights go out at Thruxton to start the series, more than 25 riders aboard their KTM 990 Super Duke R’s launch from the line in what will be a very exciting spectacle.
Although tuning has not been allowed in this years Battle, the production KTM Super Duke R has been given an increased 12hp compared to last years model. With all race bikes now identical, winning the series will come down to the riders skills and determination, everything a single-make series should be.
The 2008 Battle is held over 12 rounds alongside selected BSB meetings
