HERE are the first clear pictures of a new retro-styled Yamaha MT-07, unveiled as a concept today in Biarritz, France, ahead of the Wheels & Waves custom bike festival.

It's the work of legendary Japanese custom builder Shinya Kimura, who spent four months shaping the aluminium bodywork with a mallet.

The concept been described by a Yamaha source as a 'teaser' for a forcthoming production edition of the MT-07. It may be simply confirmation of Yamaha's intention to build a custom-styled version of the naked 689cc twin-cylinder MT-07, rather than a clear indication of how the finished item will look.

Yamaha Europe's product manager, Shun Miyazawa, told Visordown: 'When we do our own version, I think we'll blend some inspiration from him but also with Yamaha design.'
