Victory trademarks electric bike name

'Victory Charger': Polaris’ answer to Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire

PLANS for an electric motorcycle from Victory have been revealed in a trademark application.

Parent company Polaris has just trademarked the name ‘Victory Charger’ to be used for ‘Electric motorcycles and structural parts therefor.’

Polaris, which also owns Indian, recently bought electric motorcycle maker Brammo.

Brammo, maker of the Empulse R, has previously indicated it has its own plans in the area, with a sketch of a model called the 'eCruiser' appearing in an online funding bid last year, prior to Polaris’ takeover.

The new trademark seems a sure indication that the plans will come together in Victory’s answer to Harley-Davidson’s electric cruiser prototype, which is codenamed LiveWire.

Polaris Industries filed the US trademark on January 15.
