Ducati has taken the wraps off a new special edition for flagship power cruiser with the Ducati XDiavel Nera offering unparalleled motorcycle luxury inspired by Poltrona Frau.
Dubbed as offering ‘Elegance. Unlimited’, the Ducati XDiavel Nera is nevertheless going to be available in limited numbers, with only 500 units - each with their own numbered designation - being made available.
The ethos behind the Nera comes from Poltrona Frau, a high-end Italian furniture brand revered globally, and sees the XDiavel get a lavish makeover with special attention made to the upholstery of the seating and soft-materials on the cruiser.
Interestingly, Ducati pitches this model as being a deliberate ‘opposites attract’ relationship where the comforting, relaxing elements of Poltrona Frau juxtapose to the raw, sporting style of the XDiavel.
The Nera is available in ‘Black on Black’ livery with Ducati red used to pop the brake callipers and engine head covers, with Poltrona Frau adding a special seat made from Pelle Frau, a soft natural leather saddled by hand. It can be specified in Siam Red, Steel Blue, Cemento, India and Selva shades for added customisation.
The 500 units sold will also afford owners an exclusive key ring and document holder made of Pelle Frau leather in a matching colour. Owners will also be able to accessorise with a dedicated jet helmet.
A stalwart of the Ducati range, the Diavel and XDiavel have been largely unchanged since their 2016 launch date but remains formidable with its Testastretta DVT 1262cc engine, now in Euro5 configuration and pumping out 160bhp at 9,500rpm.
Standard equipment included on the XDiavel Nera includes a 240mm wide tyre on eight-spoke rims, ABS cornering, Brembo monobloc M50 calipers, full-LED lighting, Ducati Traction Control, Riding Modes, Cruise Control and Ducati Power Launch (DPL).

The Ducati XDiavel Nera is available from March 2022 on special order alongside existing special editions of the machine, the XDiavel Dark and XDiavel S.
