54 years 8 monthsHonda’s SH range has never been its headliner, but the retro scooters from Tokyo get a refresh for 2024, with the Honda SH125i Vetro topping the range.
Despite the modern SH range playing second fiddle to the likes of the Honda X-ADV, PCX125, and Forza 350 in Honda’s varied scooter range, more than one million units have been sold in the past 38 years.
2024 Honda SH125i Vetro
Building on the base of the Honda SH125i, which uses the same 125cc version of Honda’s eSP+ engine as found in the PCX125, the Vetro is a new model dedicated to Honda Italia Industriale’s Atessa factory on the Italian Adriatic Coast.
Its main standout feature is translucent, green bodywork that is actually unpainted. The result of the production process is a green-coloured glass-like effect (‘vetro’ meaning ‘glass’ in Italian), and a 9.5-per-cent reduction in CO2 emissions over the course of a year of production, according to Honda.
2024 Honda SH125i
The standard Honda SH125i lightly evolves from its established base. The 125cc eSP+ engine mentioned above remains for 2024, producing 13bhp and featuring an ‘Idling Stop’ function. The SH125i also makes use of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), as well as an LCD dash and LED lighting.
The SH125o’s new colour for 2024 is ‘Matt Pearl Cool White’, which features ‘Honda’ and ‘SH’ logos on the bodywork. Additionally, the existing ‘Pearl Falcon Grey’, ‘Matt Pearl Cool White’, ‘Matt Pearl Pacific Blue’, and ‘Pearl Nightstar Black’ schemes all get new black wheels and details.
2024 Honda SH350i
For 2024, the Honda SH350i takes position at the head of the Honda SH range. With its 350 version of the eSP+ motor producing 29bhp.
Other specifications and features include an LCD display, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), LED lighting, and a USB-C socket placed in the underseat storage compartment.
The visible changes for 2024 are the new colours, of course. In 2024, the Honda SH350i is available in two new colours, which are ‘Zefiro Blue Metallic’ and ‘Matt Techno Silver Metallic’. These are in addition to ‘Matt Ruthenium Silver Metallic’, ‘Pearl Cool White’, and simply ‘Black’, all of which are themselves updated with new black wheels and detailing.
2024 Honda SH Mode 125
The Honda SH Mode 125 is the final updated model in Honda’s retro scooter range for 2024. As a kind of lower-performance version of the SH125i, the SH Mode 125 retains many of the SH125i’s features, including the engine, albeit with 1kW less and therefore producing 11.5bhp.
Its new colours for 2024 are ‘Candy Luster Red’, and ‘Matt Galaxy Black Metallic’, which join the existing ‘Pearl Jasmine White’ and ‘Mat Techno Silver Metallic’ schemes.
The Honda SH150i also returns for 2024, but with no updates.
