New Ducati Scrambler pictures

Latest teasers range from obscure to plain weird

IT’S already probably the most spied, leaked and teased motorcycle in history, but Ducati isn’t stopping.

The firm has released these new teaser images of the forthcoming Scrambler, due to be fully unveiled within weeks.

It follows spy shots, leaks, earlier teasers and even an official animation of the new retro model, which uses the air-cooled V-twin engine from either the Monster 796 or 696, making around 80hp.

The latest images, released on Instagram and a Ducati Scrambler microsite, range from obscure to just plain strange.

Some show the bike in dim light. Others feature Ducati staff striking poses holding individual parts including a tyre.

They include Scrambler Product Manager Claudio De Angeli, who is seen jumping with a seat wedged between his legs, and Export Area Manager Elena Gaz with a tyre around her waist.

Comments from Instagram users range from ‘Wow’ to ‘What does this have to do with motorcycles?’

A post by Ducati confirms the Scrambler will have an aluminium tank, something we sort of knew already from a leaked picture.

The Scrambler is expected to effectively replace the Monster 696 as the most affordable model in Ducati’s range.

It’s been seen before in red and yellow, the colour also shown in the latest pictures, harking back to the single-cylinder 250 and 450cc Ducati Scramblers of the '60s and '70s.

It's due to be unveiled to the public at the Intermot Cologne motorcycle show on September 30.
