‘First Class’ Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour announced

The Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour features a special livery, improved comfort and practicality over and above the stock MTS V4 S.

Ducati describes the new Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour as a bike for those who like to ‘travel long distances "in first class"’ and is backing this up with a fully accessorised model, ready to tackle the longest on-road continental trip.

It’s based on the road-biased Multistrada V4 S, and boasts the same level of electronics, technology and wheel sizes found on that model. Think of it, then, as an already tricked-up Multistrada V4 S, complete with a new look and a hoard of touring and comfort additions.

How is the Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour different from a normal V4 S?

The new GT stands out from the rest of the range with a special livery, featuring grey, black and red elements on the fairing and bodywork. Another styling lift comes in the form of a new more comfortable passenger seat, complete with a new covering material featuring dedicated graphics on both the rider seat and pillion perch.
Panniers are fitted as standard to the model, boasting 60 litres of volume and featuring a colour-matched design to fit in with the rest of the bike. To make loading and unloading the cases easier, the new GT also comes ready-equipped with a centre stand. It’s something that’s optional on the rest of the range, and a handy thing to have when it comes to cleaning and servicing the bike too. Rounding out the cold weather enhancements, the new GT comes pre-equipped with heated seats for both the rider and passenger and heated grips.

One interesting change for the updated model is the use of a rigid mounting system for the handlebars, something currently only found on the V4 Rally. With the rubber mountings removed from the top clamp, the change should provide a more direct front end, improving feel in the corners.

The new bike also comes fitted with heat shields located on the swingarm and subframe, and closeable vents in the leg area to help the rider manage heat. Ducati has also now added vents to the mobile phone compartment to aid cooling while the device is being charged.

As a bonus for smaller riders, you also get a Minimum Preload setting, reducing the preload when the bike comes to a stop and therefore lowering the seat height and making it easier to flat-foot on the ground. This is matched by the Easy Lift function, which opens the suspension hydraulics at ‘key-on’, lowering the bike and making it easier to haul off the stand when fully loaded with luggage. Once the engine fires up and the bike is ridden, the system returns the suspension setting to that of the chosen riding mode and suspension setting.

As with the rest of the Multistrada range, for those looking to go even further, there is a range of accessories that include soft bags and even a top box, boosting the long-distance potential of the Grand Tour even further.
