Kawasaki Z900RS CAFE unveiled

Surprise new café racer version of recently revealed Z900RS

KAWASAKI has shown not one but two versions of its 1970s Z1-inspired Z900RS in Milan, including this, the surprise new Z900RS CAFE.

It takes the Z900RS – first seen at the Tokyo Motor Show last month – and adds new colours, lowered handlebars and a café racer fairing.

It’s also got a sportier-looking seat, with a hump at the back.

Like the Z900RS, which is based on the Z900, it’s got traction control and an assist/slipper clutch.

It makes 111hp and 72.6lbft from its 948cc in-line-four engine.

It was displayed at the Eicma motorcycle in Milan today alongside the Z900RS.

Kawasaki Motors Europe Director Morihiro Ikoma said: “We were delighted at the worldwide acclaim for the Z900RS when it was launched just a few weeks ago”, commented Director of.

“The Z900RS CAFE widens the appeal of the new RS offering and personifies the True Spirit model tag line. Kawasaki took its time to enter the modern classic scene but the wait was worthwhile. The Z900RS CAFE and Z900RS have a unique heritage and an authenticity that sets them apart as the genuine article.”
