How BMW’s new S1000F will look

According to BMW accessories firm Wunderlich. And we dare say they might have a clue

THIS is what the finished version of BMW’s new S1000-based tourer will look like, according to Wunderlich, specialist manufacturer of accessories for the German marque.

The pictures of the forthcoming model – expected to be called the S1000F – were penned for Wunderlich by French designer Nicolas Petit and posted on the accessory firm’s Facebook page.

The S1000F has already been seen in spy shots. As a manufacturer of BMW accessories for over 28 years, Wunderlich seems likely to have some insight into how the finished model might look. The firm says: ‘Our designer Nicolas Petit has brought our idea of the new S 1000 F to paper.'

The S1000F is thought to be based on the S1000RR superbike, but with longer suspension travel, high bars for an upright riding position and adventure bike styling.

It’s set to take on Ducati’s Multistrada in the high-performance end of the adventure-touring market. With at least 150hp even from a heavily detuned version of the S1000RR’s 999cc inline-four engine, it should have the legs on the Ducati.

It’s expected to be officially unveiled at the international motorcycle show in Cologne in October.
