Harley-Davidson has announced new custom colours for bikes across its range.

Called “Apex,” Harley-Davidson’s new factory custom paint option will be applicable to select bikes from its Grand American Touring models.
These models include the Road King, Street Glide, and Ultra Limited bikes, which each feature more than one custom option.

In total, there are nine new custom options, with one Road King, two Street Glides, two Ultra Limiteds, and four Road Glides.

For the Road King, there will be the Road King Special, which will cost £25,795, including the £1,900 Apex paint.

The Street Glide will have the Special Chrome and the Special Black. The Special Chrome will cost £28,895 (including £1,900 Apex paint); while the Special Black will cost £30,095, including £3,100 Apex paint.

Like the Street Glide, the Ultra Limited will have two options: Limited Chrome and Limited Black; and the prices are similarly different between the two. For the Limited Chrome, £31,095, while the Limited Black will cost £32,295.

The Road Glide will combine the Special and Limited options, with a Special Black (£30,095), Limited Black (£31,195), Special Chrome (£28,895), and Limited Chrome (£29,995).

“The [Apex] colour scheme starts with a base of Vivid Black paint,” Harley-Davidson says. “A graphic element adds Gauntlet Grey panels.” That graphic element includes an outline on the fuel tank that mimics the shape of the tank of Harley’s legendary flat track racer the XR750, from which the Apex paint draws its inspiration.

The panels are “surrounded by an accent stripe of Jet Fire Orange - the original colour applied to the XR750 competition models,” Harley-Davidson says.

“Apex factory custom paint gives riders the opportunity to express the thrill of speed and competition on the bodywork of their bagger,” said Harley-Davidson’s Vice President of Design and Creative Director - Motorcycles, Brad Richards. “This paint scheme communicates velocity and forward momentum with lines and colours inspired by Harley-Davidson competition motorcycles.”

There will also be Tour-Pak custom fenders and luggage carriers to match the Apex paint from Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories.
