Aprilia RS4 125 quickshifter option

£3999 for the little brother of the RSV4

APRILIA has always had a knack for making bikes that teenagers would trample each other for and its new four-stroke RS4 125 has just got even more drool-worthy with the addition of an optional quickshifter.

The days of 100mph 125cc two-strokes might be gone now, replaced by the much tamer four-stroke machines, but where the old Sintesi, Futura and Extrema were the stuff of dreams in the 80s and 90s, the RS4 has the styling to be just as appealing to the latest generation.

The four-stroke single is virtually indistinguishable at a glance from the full-fat RSV4 superbike, and the quickshifter means owners get at least a little taste of that bike's technology, too.

The downsides? Well, it adds another £99 to the price of the RS4 125, which is already slated to cost £3999 when it hits dealers in July. So it will be just as far from the reach of the average 17 year old as all its predecessors were.
