Another teaser for the KTM 1290 Super Duke R has landed
The latest teaser video for the new KTM 1290 Super Duke R lets us hear the new bike as it races around Almeria
THE KTM PR machine is running at full chat as another tantalising teaser video for what we assume is the new 1290 Super Duke R has been aired on YouTube.
The video confirms little in the way of new information about the model, although the video does show the bike being ridden around Almeria meaning it has an aurally pleasing soundtrack. Keeping the 1290 super Duke sounding sweet are a set of stubby Akrapovic silencers – worth the ticket price alone in my opinion.
One shot that is baffling us in the office about this clip is the crew chief holding the pit-board out for the rider. Fair enough, 1290 at the top is the clear indication that this is the 1290 Super Duke, but MAP 8 seems to have thrown us. It’s even weirder that the chap with the board is pointing so insistently at it. It could be some cryptic clue, or he could just be pointing at it for authenticity’s sake – answers on a postcard!
Other confirmation about the model comes in the form of Brembo monobloc calipers and also some interesting looking aerodynamic vanes that seem to be mounted on the side of the bike’s fairing – shown in an earlier teaser.
We’ve already seen the assembly video which gave some clues to the new bike’s performance potential, with the hope of lashings of carbon being confirmed by a KTM technician lining a moulding with un-baked carbon fibre material.
For more confirmation of the exact spec of the model, keep 'em peeled on the 5th of November when all will be revealed!
