John McGuinness marks 30 TT years with one-off Podcast Live at Villa Gaiety
A one-night curtain-raiser for TT 2026 will see John McGuinness joined by rivals and team-mates to relive 30 years on 37.73 miles of public road.
Tickets are now on sale for a special edition of The TT Podcast Live, celebrating 30 years of John McGuinness at the Isle of Man TT Races.
The one-off event takes place on Friday 24 April at 19:30 at the Villa Gaiety, Douglas, and acts as the official curtain-raiser to TT 2026. If you’re already counting down to next year, this is where it starts.
Hosted by Chris Pritchard and Lee Johnston, the evening promises a chapter-by-chapter run through McGuinness’ career. From a wide-eyed teenager visiting the Island in the 1990s to one of the defining riders of the modern era.
The numbers only tell part of it, but twenty-three TT wins in multiple classes, on two-stroke and four-strokes – and the first ever 130mph lap of the Mountain Course – make 'McPint' a benchmark in TT history.
The night isn't being billed as a stats recital; it’s the story behind the wins, the judgment calls, the comebacks, the graft away from race week and the resilience that kept him in the game across three decades of changing machinery and rising standards.
On stage alongside McGuinness will be familiar names from across the paddock, including Michael Rutter, Ian Lougher, Conor Cummins, Dean Harrison, Davey Todd and Peter Hickman, with more guests to be confirmed. Guests should expect rivalries revisited, partnerships unpacked, and a few untold stories thrown in for good measure.
McGuinness’ TT career has spanned eras. He’s closed chapters, opened new ones and, in many ways, grown alongside the event itself. This show aims to connect those dots, as the TT looks ahead once again to the 2026 event.
