AN AUCTION of over 100 motocycles from a private Spanish collection took place this weekend at Hendon RAF Museum, England.
Machines spanning almost 100 years of motorcycle production went under the hammer at the Bonhams sale; a 1929 Cleveland 61ci Tornado Four fetched the highest price at the auction, selling for £48,800.
A Brough Superior SS100, earmarked as the main attraction of the sale, did not reach its expected £100,000 - £120,000 value. Bonhams say the bidding went to just under £80,000 but it wasn't enough for the buyer to part company with the legendary V-twin.
