Motorcycle Live 2012: Test ride zone returns

Popular attraction makes a welcome return at the UK's largest motorcycle show

THIS YEAR'S Motorcycle Live will welcome back the hugely popular Test Ride Zone, in which show-goers will get a free test ride on the bike of their choice.

Holders of a full motorcycle license will be able to enjoy a 20-minute test ride on a model of their choosing, before heading out on the road, accompanied by an out-rider.

Shoei, Sidi and Spada will be laying on kit for those arriving without it, so as long as you bring your license, there is nothing getting between you and your free ride.

Ducati, Kawasaki, Harley-Davidson, Honda, KTM, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Victory, Yamaha and Zero will all certainly be providing motorcycles for the benefit of show-goers - models yet to be confirmed.

Participants must be over 21 years old and hold a full UK licence and bring both parts of this for verification. To book a ride, head to the Test Ride Zone check-in desk in Hall 4. Bookings will be taken from 10.00am.

Here's what a few of the punters from last year had to say on the matter:

'A good idea for those who are not sure what sort of bike to buy. You can get good advice on what bike suits your needs and what sort of riding gear is available to you.' – Colin Williams, 65, Cardiff

'The best way to ride different manufacturer’s bikes all in one place.' – Gene Loder, 45, Hartlepool

'Great for deciding if that new bike is right for you.' – Steve Collier, 47, Wolverhampton

'Buzzing, informative and a pleasure.' – Nicola Ford, 55, Beccles

Make sure you get down promptly to ensure you get your turn!
