Jonathan Rea just put his Kawasaki ZX-10RR on eBay. And it’s a bargain!

Use eBay? Well, get on there now because you could  be the winning bid of a Kawasaki ZX-10RR 'owned' carefully by WorldSBK champion Jonathan Rea...

Jonathan Rea -KawasakI ZX-10RR 2020

Earlier this week we ran an article about the 2012 MotoGP-spec Suter CRT bike going up for auction later this month and judging by the lofty traffic figures it received, it seems you were rather taken by the prospect of bidding for such a machine.

It’s why you might want sit down for this one - and get onto your accountant, wife, priest or shaman - to help you figure out how you can get your hands on this Kawasaki ZX-10RR belonging to none other than Jonathan Rea, which has (somewhat randomly) popped up on eBay.

While it sounds like it has all the makings of a hoax, this is verified genuine and better still, it only has a reserve of €25,000 (though it is now €30,000…) and the sale is being handled by Provec Racing, the brawn behind Rea’s success. Let’s just say this certainly ramps up that old ‘fastest finger, praying the internet won’t drop out’ bidding wars in the final seconds over a pair of used trainers.

However, because Rea’s unprecedented success means he has a ‘garage’ (or motorcycle park) brimming withKawasakis already, he has decided to let this track day version go to someone else who will give it a happy, less stressful retirement.

Better still, you will get invited to a round of WorldSBK as a VIP, receive various signed goodies and of course get to meet the ‘careful owner’ before you in Mr Rea himself.

As far as track day weapons go, while you maaaaaay not be as fast as Jonathan Rea, you’ll certainly do a better impression of the multiple record-breaking Ulsterman than pretty much anyone else in the world.
