Taylor...honoured 25 years on

FORMER SIDECAR World Champion and four-time TT winner, Jock Taylor, was honoured by a parade of over 130 bikers in Pencaitland, Scotland on Saturday.

The tribute was lead by motorcycle racing champions Howard Selby and Sandy Christie to mark the 25th anniversary of the death of the Pencaitland-born sidecar racer, who became World Champion in 1980 with passenger, Benga Johansson. The pair also became Scottish Sidecar Champions in 1977, 1978 and 1979, as well as British Sidecar Champions in 1979 and 1980

The parade, which toured the crowded town centre, contained a variety of road and racing motorcycles, including four sidecar outfits. Celebrations continued throughout the day and culminated with a music festival which attracted more than 200 people.

The ride raised more than £1,000 for the National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD). A further £1,000 was raised from the other activities which will go towards local charities and schools.
