Harley's Captain America Liberator on display

Firm celebrates “Captain America” tie-up

SOME of the five custom-made Harley-Davidson “Liberator” bikes made for the new Captain America movie have gone on display in the firm's museum.

Although this poster image shows a machine powered by what looks like a WW2-period Harley engine, in fact it's one of five modified Harley Cross Bones machines built specially for the film. Those flathead-style fins on the cylinder heads are fakes, bolted to a modern Harley twin-cam motor.

According to Harley-Davidson two of the bikes will go on permanent display in the firm's museum and one as part of a special temporary display along with various other props from the new film, which appears in cinemas later this month.
