Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2021 date confirmed - 10th Anniversary edition

DISTINGUISHED Gentleman’s Ride is an annual ride that, this year, is all about connecting globally but riding solo - Covid 19 style. This year the ride will take place on Sunday the 23rd of May 2021.

2021 also marks the 10th anniversary of the global event, with cities across the world participating in 1 of 3 different formats in order to comply with local social distancing restrictions. Last year the initiative reached a record 171 countries in 2531 cities, with a slightly different 'Ride Solo' version.

All DGR rides are run by Ride Host volunteers in over 100 cities, all in aid of men’s health - with founder Mark Hawwa inspired by a photo of Don Draper of Mad Men atop a classic motorcycle in his finest suit. To date (and since 2012), over $27.45 million USD has been raised by 340,000 riders (and counting).

Distinguished Gentleman's Ride formats for 2021:

Normal Ride (Covid Safe)

With a meeting point and defined route, riders will still comply with Covid guidelines in their city (depending on guidelines) but have a much more normal feel.

Route Only Ride

A city loop over a set period of time, with no start, regroup or end - allowing you to jump on and off the route whenever and wherever you’d like. Sort of like a big motorised conga line around a city.

Solo Ride

No set route, just dress dapper and hop on your ride. Down to your own discretion where you want to ride.

DGR is quick to point out that they are not encouraging anyone to ride in groups or with multiple people if that’s not allowed - just be sensible and understand the local Covid rules, we’re all adults!
