Diavel recalled (again)

Problem with the number plate hanger

DUCATI'S Diavel might be a revolutionary machine and reports from Italy suggest it's selling well, but it's not immune to problems – suffering its second recall in the model's short life.

After suffering a problem with its keyless security system soon after launch, the Diavel's latest problem is with the unusual number plate hanger that's bolted to the back of the swingarm. It shares a mounting with the chain guard, and there are fears that the bolt holding both parts can come loose, potentially allowing either the chain guard or number plate hanger to get caught on the rear wheel.

According to the government's Vehicle and Operator Services Agency website, the solution is a recall that will see the chain guard replaced and the rogue bolts tightened to a higher torque. All bikes from chassis number ZDMG100ABAB000025 to ZDMG100ABBB004581 are involved in the recall, around 270 of them are in the UK.
