Bumpfree: the hi-tech speed-sensing speedhump

THE Bumpfree Dynamic Speed Bump concept is a new idea from Down Under and allows road users who are traveling within the right speed limit to pass over the hump without the huge jolt usually associated with sleeping policemen.

However the Bumpfree will 'nudge' those traveling above the limit via internal cells within the unit that contain fluids which will instantly react with vehicles if they're going too fast.

The idea has spawned from Australian student from Newcastle University. Bryce Killen's concept has made the shortlist for the 2010 Australian Design Awards.

So no more nasty jolts when tackling speed humps, unless, of course, you're traveling too fast.
