Bubba Blackwell to attempt 22-car jump

US daredevil makes second attempt at stunt that almost killed him

ALMOST 10 YEARS after nearly losing his life in a similar stunt, US daredevil Bubba Blackwell is to make another attempt to jump over 22 cars on his Harley-Davidson XR750.

Blackwell suffered life-threatening injuries when he hit the landing ramp while attempting to clear 22 cars on an XR750 Harley-Davidson in Del Mar, California, July 4th, 2001. Following the crash, seen in the above video, Blackwell was put on life support and was hospitalised for three months.

"It was not a good day to be in the line of work I am in," said Blackwell, in a recent interview.

Blackwell hopes to put the incident well and truly behind him when he makes another attempt, scheduled to take place on June 12th, during Laconia Motorcycle Week, at Rockingham Park, USA.

The American, now 52, is the current world record holder for most buses jumped: 15.

"Sometimes you need that promotional hit to show you've still got what it takes," Blackwell said. "We want people to know I've still got it."

He's 52, FFS!. At that age I'd be happy getting home in one piece after a blast to Skeggy!

Hats off!
