Serious accident breaks biker's arms and pelvis

A BIKER from Worksop was involved in a serious RTC at 15:28 on Saturday the 28th of July on the A630 Doncaster Road at the junction with the B6093 Ravensfield Lane, Hooton Roberts, Rotherham.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a two vehicle collision in which a motorcyclist sustained serious injuries.

The collision involving a Kawasaki Motorcycle and a Vauxhall Frontera occurred at around 1528hrs on Saturday 28th July 2007 on the A630 Doncaster Road at the junction with the B6093 Ravensfield Lane, Hooton Roberts, Rotherham.

It is reported that the Frontera being driven by a 24year old woman from Rotherham, had turned right from Ravensfield Lane on to Doncaster Road and was travelling towards Conisbrough. The Kawasaki ZX6R motorcycle was travelling on Doncaster Road towards Conisbrough. The motorcycle collided with the rear of the Frontera.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 42 year old man from Worksop sustained broken arms and a broken pelvis. He was taken to Sheffield Northern General Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Frontera received minor injuries in the collision.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them. In addition police would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the movements of the Red Kawasaki prior to the collision happening.
