American ex-con nicked on bike with ‘Xfelon’ plate

An American former jailbird was arrested by police for failing to stop on a stolen Ducati with the licence plate ‘Xfelon’.

Brock Antonie Williams was spotted in the car park of a grocery store by a detective who then ran a records inquiry.

But before he could talk to Williams, he hopped on a Cagiva Alazzurra and cleared off, reaching the heady speeds of 100mph before turning into a dead end, hopping off and claiming he had never seen the bike before. It had been nicked from a nearby location in the middle of last year.

Williams was arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and possession of methamphetamine.

Lieutenant Scott McKee said that the ironic plate wasn't on the bike when it was stolen and was likely put on afterwards.

“As we say in the biz, we catch the dumb ones first,” McKee said. “Since these guys make license plates in prison, you would think he would be a little more creative. I guess he didn't realize what a clue that presented to us in law enforcement.”
