1983 Kawasaki GPZ750 Turbo on eBay

Turbo-charged classic has covered only 6392 miles from new

GPz750 Turbo...100bhp on skinny tyres and crap brakes

THE 1980s was the decade of the turbocharged motorcycle. All four major Japanese manufacturers had a go at producing a turbocharged bike and probably the most successful was Kawasaki, with their GPZ750 Turbo - and, as luck would have it, there's one up for grabs on eBay right now, which has covered less than 7000 miles from new..

Yes, that's right a 1983 Kawasaki GPZ750 turbo with a mere 6392 miles on the clock is up for auction, and at present has no bids.

6392 miles over 24 years equates to five miles a week

The seller claims the original owner emigrated years ago to a country where turbo bikes were banned and put the bike into storage at Heathrow airport. The bike stayed there for more than 20 years before ending up in the hands of one of the airport employees. Unfortunately during this time the fuel pump had seized and the bike was no longer running and was sold to me as a non runner.

Apparently the turbo seals need replacing (£250) and there's some surface rust on bottom of tank and air box covers and the paint on fuel filler cap has faded. Other than that it's in amazing condition for a 24-year-old machine.

What do we think it'll fetch? Probably around £5000

Fancy a look?
