GP legend’s MotoGP paddock bike for sale for an extremely low price
A rare, Mick Doohan-signed slice of HRC’s MotoGP history is up for grabs, but it’s not what you think it is!

A (small) piece of MotoGP history has found its way into the market, as an ex-Mick Doohan Honda SJ50 Bali paddock scooter goes up for sale.

What we have here is a machine dripping with Mick Doohan heritage, with humorous modifications such as a carbon handlebar fairing, carbon side panels, and a bespoke leather seat. The bike also comes complete with a genuine FIM 500GP scooter pass from the era, and the eye-catching custom paintwork in the unmistakable Doohan design. Everywhere you look, there are sponsor decals and period-correct details that scream late-’90s grand prix.

According to the last owner, this one was “HRC breathed on”, although it’s not clear exactly what has been carried out. What we do know is that it’s fitted with a performance Arrow exhaust, and the clutch bites a little higher than expected, suggesting a touch of tuning. The bike has apparently been sitting unused for years, but was fully recommissioned before going on sale. Going by the advert, the only element that still needs a fettle is the fuel pump, which gave up the ghost at the recent Stafford Bike Show.

The paperwork is equally impressive. There’s a framed photo of Mick himself with the bike, taken when it was auctioned for charity years ago, plus a service book showing his name from new, and a thick file of documentation verifying its provenance. In short, this is not just a scooter or pit bike; it’s a genuine slice of MotoGP history that won’t require a second mortgage to own.
The bike is for sale on Classic Super Bikes for £3,950. You can check out the listing for yourself on the official website.
