Started in 1909 by Michio Suzuki in Hamamatsu, Japan, Suzuki initially built weaving looms for Japan's silk industry. In 1937, the company built its first car. After the Second World War, with the country in desperate need for affordable vehicles, Suzuki turned to two-wheelers.
