THIS HORRIFIC footage captured by a rider's helmet cam shows his friend's leg being punctured by a branch.
Recorded in Victoria, Australia, the clip shows a group riding through bushland as one rider attempts to cross a fallen tree, resulting in his leg being impaled. After taking a quick photo, the branch is then removed from his leg by the cameraman before the group rush back to their camp.
According to reports, the injured man required artery repair, two skin grafts and a number of stitches - remaining in hospital for 11 days.
