Five videos to get you ready for the 2017 Isle of Man TT

Next week signals the start of the 2017 Isle of Man TT. Get ready with these videos

Isle of Man TT

IT'S NEARLY time for the Isle of Man TT and because we’ve been thinking about it a lot over the past few weeks, we’ve spent far too much time time skiving off watching TT videos - just the thing to get us in the mood ahead of this year’s annual road racing extravaganza.

We selected some onboard videos, montages and cool footage that only gets captured when the world focuses its attention on the Isle of Man each year.

Enjoy.

1. The fastest lap of the Mountain Course

THERE ARE a gajillion Isle of Man on-board videos, so it's only right that we include one of them and you won’t see a faster lap of the TT course than this. Here's Michael Dunlop pushing the envelope a bit further last year with this sub-17 minute lap (16 minutes 53.929 seconds) and an average speed of 133.393mph on his BMW S1000RR during the Superbike race.

2. Guy Martin from above

THIS HELICOPTER footage of Guy Martin looks right good, doesn't it chief? It beautifully captures the beauty of a 200hp superbike being pinned and flowing along the TT course. Being able to see how much Martin is moving on top of the bike gives some indication of the effort involved not just to turn the bike but also to stay on it over bumps while keeping it settled and pointing in the right direction.

3. James Hillier and the Kawasaki H2R

HERE'S JAMES Hilliar taking Kawasaki's supercharged H2R for a lap of the TT course in a video that's a mix of on-board footage and interviews with James. While the H2R might not take part in the race, seeing it getting caned around TT circuit is still impressive - Hillier isn't hanging about.

4. Spectator perspective

IF YOU'RE going to this year's TT, then chances are you'll be watching from the roadside or a grandstand somewhere and although on board videos and cool aerial shots are a great way to capture the action of the race, there's nothing quite like the sensation of being three feet away from a bike as it comes past at 150mph, as this video shows.

5. 2017 Isle of Man TT trailer

AND FINALLY here's the promotional trailer for the 2017 Isle of Man TT, which makes the TT look like the most awesome race on the planet. Which it is.
